APE and the Abarat

I read the Abarat by Clive Barker recently. Woo! I am very fond of fantastical fantasy, rather than 'high'/Tolkien fantasy (also good though), and thinly-veiled-bad-soap-opera fantasy (very bad.) Things like "The Never Ending Story" (I've been told I need to read Mono), and "Coraline" by Gamain. Lots of stuff by Gamain really. The Abarat got a bit more normal in it's second volume, really anything consistent you get used to. But it is still lovely.

Also I went to APE, (Alternative Press Expo) in San Francisco on Saturday, and I had a really good time. There was much grovy and pretty comic art. And I got Kazu and Jen Wang to sign my copy of Flight vol. 2. YAY!! *Does happy happy dance*. If you like beautiful comic art, go look at pantsketch and then go buy both volumes of Flight. Love love love Flight.

Love pretty bat girl hussy!

Nope, sorry. I have FOUR weddings to go to this summer, and NONE of them are closer than a long plane ride. But they are all people I love, so it is good.
