Strawberry Lemonade

It is hot here today, 100ish. Best beverage ever, strawberry lemonade. Preferably local organic.

Our recipe:
7-8 lemons from the sweet lemon tree outside (~1 pt. juice),
3/4pt to 1 pt basket organic strawberries from the farmers market depending on how many are in the fridge,
3/4c organic sugar,
blend, (I like my stick blender!)
add water to make 1/2 gallon total.

Drink all day long interspersed with iced tea. Happiness.

[Edit: It is the summer solstice today, this is now our official summer solstice beverage. So appropriate. Rockin'.]

Mmm...that sounds good. Can I have a glass?

But then it wouldn't be local! (Or very fresh, unless I overnighted it with ice.) You're just gonna have to make your own. 1 glass = 1 lemon, couple TBSP sugar, half a handful of strawberries, and some water. Mashing with a fork is an acceptable substitute to blending if you are only making one glass. :-D

Hmm...maybe I'll have to make it to the farmer's market this weekend. I suggested picking strawberries Sunday, but Noelle said it would hurt my back too much.
