We're at the Children's Discovery Museum again today, and again I'm working on letting Rebecca concentrate, and trying things at her own pace and with her own direction. Like using as many coffee filters with the liquid water colors as she wants, and letting her art be 'boring' - all one solid color, if that's what she wants to experiment with. And what's wrong with decorating the catch tray and then smearing it around with paper towels? Nothing of course. That's part of the process too. She spent about four times longer working than anyone else, and I waited until she said she was done and wanted to wash her hands. Now she's concentrating on working with sand and scoops, pouring and marking with her fingers. And I'm going to try really hard to not suggest it's lunch time until she's done.
